Poured Out (Part 3): Worship Poured Out on the Feet of Jesus
TO START
This Sunday, we jumped into part 3 of a series called Poured Out as we lean into the ways that God is pouring out wonderful things in and through our people. And we are asking the question, how do we collectively stir up momentum in our relationship with God. Start with this prompt:
In this season of your faith, do you feel momentum in relation to your faith? If so, how are you channeling that momentum? If not, what do you think is keeping you from momentum?
This week we are inviting your group to choose questions from the multiple options below. Our hope is that these questions might help you to lead your discussion in a way that makes sense for your group this week as y’all “talk it out” and “live it out”.
TALK IT OUT AFTER READING REVELATION 5:1-14 (ESP. 6-14)
STUDY
Why does John start weeping in verse 4?
What is the significance that Jesus is able to take the scroll from the hand of God?
What is the significance of the different titles for Jesus: The Lamb, The Root of David, The Lion of the tribe of Judah, etc.?
What about this heavenly scene catches your attention the most?
PROCESS
Share a time when you truly felt you poured your heart to God in worship through song.. Where were you? What were you singing? What emotions did you notice?
What area of your life right now feels particularly like a battle in the trenches (marriage, parenting, job, family history, failed dream, health, forgiveness, etc.)?
LIVE IT OUT
PRACTICE
Is there a different way of worshiping God in song that God might be calling you to personally or collectively? What’s keeping you from trying it?
In what ways does this passage give you a picture of Jesus and heaven to come? How might you experience it right now? OR how have you experienced it?
PRAY
Beginning today, Sunday, April 21st until Sunday, April 28th, we are consecrating the prayer room 24/7 for 168 straight hours. To close group, spend time asking God to ignite our church to be Spirit-filled & Spirit-led as we come before him all week in prayer individually and collectively.
