Young Families Class: James & 2nd Corinthians
This semester, we are going to unpack two beautiful letters written for the sake of encouragement to those in the 1st-2nd Century who are desiring to embody the realities of a living faith in Jesus.
First, through the book of James, we will unpack the reality that true faith produces faith. The writer offers us a kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands dirty discipleship that is born out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. James writes to believers who know suffering, who’ve faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.
Next, through Paul’s 2nd letter to the church in Corinth, we will unpack what authentic Christianity looks like. Recognizing that it’s not about how put together we seem to be but always about how God works powerfully through our shortcomings to accomplish purpose for us. We don’t have to clean up our weaknesses before God and others–we invite them in.

The Collective (Young Adults) Class: A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society
Our society is still obsessed with quick fixes. But the real, time-tested prescription for discipleship remains the same—a long obedience in the same direction.
Following Jesus requires a deepening life of prayer, and throughout history Christians have learned to pray from the Book of Psalms. This study draws our attention to what are known as the Songs of Ascents (Psalms 120-134). Psalms sung by Hebrew pilgrims on their way to Jerusalem which invite us and teach us to grow in worship, service, joy, work, humility, community, and blessing.
