OUR VISION
“We are Jesus followers who are Spirit-filled & Spirit-led for those who do not have a home.”
After spending a year and a half listening for what God wants for the future of our church, we perceive a specific invitation from God to the vision statement above. We believe the description of Jesus being “filled” & “led” by the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1) is the invitation of every Jesus follower at Round Rock Church of Christ. We believe the purpose Jesus identifies with himself to seek & save the lost (Luke 19:10) is the priority of every Jesus follower at Round Rock Church of Christ. In the year of 2023, we rolled out this vision through a series called Filled & Led where we unpacked what it means to be a Jesus follower who is filled & led by the Holy Spirit.
The Six Initiatives of Our Vision:
To live into what God placed before us, we perceived six areas of concentration over the next couple of years to build a house that homes those who are filled & led by the Spirit of Jesus and partnering with God in bringing other people home to God.
Sharpen our gift of conversing & sharing about Jesus.
Cultivate a posture & practice of discerning the desires of God amongst the leadership of Round Rock Church of Christ.
Provide opportunities to equip & practice listening & hearing from God.
Develop relationships of mutual discipleship for the purpose of maturing into the image of Jesus.
Establish practical, biblical, and consistent rhythms of finding intimacy with God through the Spirit.
Partner locally & globally with ministries who are creating a sense of home in their region.
Rhythms: Where Do We Start In Cultivating Jesus’ Life of Being Filled & Led?
We believe the teachings & lifestyle of Jesus inform how to cultivate a life filled & led by the Spirit of God. In the season & life of our church, we’ve established these five rhythms to ways we individually & communally cultivate a life of being filled & led by the Holy Spirit to enable us to do the things Jesus did in his life.
