Vision Recap

TO START

This Sunday, we paused to take inventory of the ways the Spirit has moved and is leading us as we continue to lean into the vision we unrolled in August, “to be a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led church for those who don’t have a home”.

  • If you had to use one word to characterize your relationship with God right now, what would it be? Feel free to explain if you would like.

This week we are inviting your group to choose questions from the multiple options below.  Our hope is that these questions might help you to lead your discussion in a way that makes sense for your group this week as y’all “talk it out” and “live it out”.

TALK IT OUT AFTER READING 1 TIMOTHY 4:6-16

(Consider dwelling in the PROCESS section tonight)
STUDY

  • What do you think it means to be “trained” or “nourished” in the truths of faith?

  • Why was Paul so keen on the importance of these 3 ways of communicating Scripture in his letter  to Timothy?

  • Why does Paul want Timothy’s progress to be evident to all? What is Paul worried about or hoping for?

PROCESS (feel free to ask all at one time and let folks choose what they respond to)

  • FILLED: How have you experienced God in fresh ways over the last year?

  • LED: What do you feel like God might be leading you into in this season?

  • HOME: Are you celebrating anyone that came home to God in this past year? AND/OR Who are you hoping will come home to God?

LIVE IT OUT

PRACTICE

  • Do you feel equipped to walk closely with someone who doesn’t know God? Have you done it before? What was it like? What did you learn from it?

  • What spiritual rhythms are you practicing right now in order to be able to do what you cannot do alone?

PRAY

  • As y’all close time in group today, we invite you to pray for our church individually and collectively to continue to trust the work of the Spirit in this vision AND we want to invite you to pray for the deacons and ministry leaders we are offering up to help lead us in this vision.
